As we approach winter, the weather is starting to get much colder. This means dark colors and more layers. Well, this winter I am trying to upgrade my wardrobe to help fight seasonal depression and falling into a winter slump. Here are 5 ways you can spice up your winter wardrobe to stay stylish and warm!
1. Use accessories as a pop of color
Accessories are a great way to spice up any outfit. Using accessories as pop of color is a great way to incorporate color in your wardrobe. The ACNE scarf has been very popular this season and is such a cute accessory for winter. Try shopping some dupes at H&M or Zara!
2. Layer pieces to add dimension to outfits
Layers are key to keeping warm in winter. They also add interest to any outfit. It’s been a super popular trend to tie a sweater around your neck, and this is a great way to add a little something to your outfit while also keeping warm. Or even adding a button up underneath a crew neck sweater can add a preppy touch.
3. Invest in a good coat
If you live in a colder climate, you know how essential a warm coat is in the winter. Investing in a timeless coat that you can wear season after season will save you time and money. Some of my favorite styles are below!
4. Wear thermal tights
Now this is something that I have yet to try. If you live somewhere like Paris where nylons are often worn, you need thermal tights. Let’s face it, tights in the winter are just not practical, they are way too thin and provide no warmth. Thermal tights are almost like leggings, except they appear like nylon tights. Try them out the next time you want to wear a skirt or dress this winter!
5. Get some cozy shoes
We’ve seen a revival of the UGG boot these past two years, and I’m definitely not mad about it. UGGs are so comfy and cozy, making them the PERFECT winter shoe. Unlike the 2010s, UGGs are now styled in a much more elevated way versus just with leggings and a sweatshirt. Try pairing them with some loose-fitting jeans and a colorful sweater!
Happy styling & stay warm this winter!
