The holidays are here! The air is cold and Christmas trees can be spotted around almost every corner in the city. No matter the holiday you are celebrating this year, being in such a wonderful city like Paris will no doubt get you into a holly jolly mood. Here is a little itinerary to follow while getting in the spirit.

Garden Tuileries

In the Garden Tuileries, there is huge Christmas market happening from now until early January. It is so large it stretches for almost half of a mile on the north side of the park. The market has about everything from all types of sausages, desserts and hot mulled wine to games and huge rides. It is also essential to check out the ice skating rink in the middle of the market and get out on the ice or perhaps just watch as Parisians skate by. Finally, check out the little shops on your way to the huge Ferris Wheel and take a spin. The views are worth the €15 and offer you a great view of the city and it's lights.

Le Bon Marchè

Looking to go Christmas shopping or searching for the best Christmas gifts? Checking out Le Bon Marchè is a must. This department store offers the most pleasurable shopping experience. Especially during the holidays, it is completely decked out with ornate decorations and even has a Christmas exhibit filled with ornaments, Christmas trees, tinsel and so much more. You can even pick up a print guide to help navigate the three floors that are filled with a library, café, jewelry, beauty supplies, and of course--tons of clothes!

Hot Chocolate... Somewhere!

The most festive drink of the season, hot chocolate, can be found all over the city at a multitude of cafès. Some I have stopped by and are most definitely worth a visit include: Angelina, Carette and Café de Flores. They serve you a pot full of thick chocolate and a side of whipped cream. This sweet treat will be sure to warm you up before you continue to take on the city.

Admire the Lights!

One of the beautiful parts of the city during Christmas time are the lights! Strewn in between buildings, in store windows and on top of cafés, the twinkling lights can be easily spotted. Some of the best streets to take a stroll to admire could be: Boulevard Hausmann, Rue Faubourg-St-Honoré, Avenue Montaigne or the special Place Vendôme. Strolling and taking in the lights can be the perfect way to celebrate the season.

Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
